About This Course

This course teaches judgement. You interpret grey areas, run DPIAs and independent audits, build a defence file for the Board, and advise boards of directors. The self-assessed capstone casts you as DPO of PaisaPath, a fictional digital lender with 1.2 crore borrowers, an AI underwriting model and a Singapore analytics vendor.

Who it is for: Data Protection Officers, privacy leads, independent data auditors, CISOs, internal auditors and senior lawyers. Recommended background: the DPDP Lead Implementer course, or three years in privacy, security audit or technology law. Completing this course does not by itself qualify anyone for appointment as a DPO or independent data auditor; those appointments are for the organisation to decide.

You will be able to:

  • Apply the Puttaswamy proportionality test to contested processing.
  • Design the DPO role and charter for a Significant Data Fiduciary.
  • Run a full DPIA and an independent data audit fit for the Board.
  • Assess algorithmic risk under Rule 13.
  • Build a penalty defence file using the seven s.33(2) factors.
  • Navigate inquiries, mediation, voluntary undertakings and TDSAT appeals.
  • Reconcile DPDP with CERT-In, RBI, SEBI, IRDAI, ABDM and telecom rules.

Self-paced online course. On passing the final assessment you receive a certificate of completion. It records that you completed this course and passed its assessment; it is not a licence, an accredited certification or a qualification recognised by any government body.
